The E-series N54 and N55 engines are no strangers to oil cooling problems, that's why we developed the MSL Oil Cooler Kits. The higher capacity oil coolers ensures that E-series models equipped with N54 and N55 engines stay cool, even during heated conditions. We strongly advise combining the cooler kit with the MSL Oil Thermostat.
The MSL Oil Cooler Kits for the BMW 1-Series E8x and BMW 3-Series E9x are available as single or twin cooler kits. The twin cooler kit replaces the OEM cooler on the right side of the car and adds an extra cooler on the left side. The kit comes with the 2x Setrab 19 row oil cooler, 2x stainless MSL bracket, 1x Mounting bracket, 1x Oil adapter AN8, and a hose kit (3 hoses). The MSL Oil Thermostat has to be ordered separately.
Race Bolts (3) are for the MSL or OEM Thermostat only.
Note: This item is not ''plug-and-play''. You will need to make some adjustments to the car to fit the bigger oil cooler and bracket. Additional OEM products that you need for the installation are: oil cooler front air duct (left), wheel arch air duct (left), inside wheel arch for the auxiliary cooler (left). The installation time is approximately 4 hours.
Attention N55 Owners, if you choose the optional MSL Thermostat to come with your kit, your application requires and will be send with the MSL N54 (#030210050) Thermostat.
1M Owners please read below!!!!!
Installing the twin oil cooler kit on a BMW 1M requires some extra modifications to make the left oil cooler fit into the car. The 1M is equipped with an auxiliary water cooler on the left side of the car. This is the place where the second oil cooler needs to be installed. To make this fit the auxiliary watercooler has to be removed and probably a bigger radiator has to be installed. It will add extra time to the installation process.
