BMW Parts Fitment Guide
Choose BMW parts by the exact engine, chassis, production date and product option. A model badge or engine collection helps narrow your search, but the individual manufacturer application determines whether a part fits.
Engine code and chassis code: what is the difference?
The engine code identifies the engine family or version. The chassis code identifies the vehicle platform or body application. Both can matter: an engine-related component may also require a specific chassis, while a spoiler or diffuser must match the body and bumper configuration.
What information should I check before buying?
- Vehicle: record the model, model year, chassis, body style and production date.
- Engine and drivetrain: confirm the engine version, transmission and drivetrain where the listing requires them.
- Factory options: check the facelift version, bumper package, sensors and other options that affect the part.
- Current modifications: note aftermarket hardware, software and any engine or body changes.
- Product: match the manufacturer part number, fitment list, selected variant and included components.
If you are unsure of your vehicle specification, confirm it through your vehicle documentation, BMW dealer or installer. Do not rely on the model badge alone.

Does appearing in an engine collection guarantee fitment?
No. Collections are browsing aids. A shared engine code does not confirm that a component fits every chassis, production year, drivetrain or engine revision. Read the full application list and option descriptions before purchasing.
How do I select B58 Gen 1 or Gen 2 parts?
Confirm the engine generation for your specific vehicle before selecting a pump, injector, manifold or related component. Do not choose a generation solely from a model name. Check whether the product requires particular supporting hardware, wiring or calibration.
What matters for carbon fiber and exterior parts?
Match the chassis, body style and Pre-LCI or LCI version, then compare the actual bumper and panel shape. Check sensor positions, exhaust openings and the listed mounting method where relevant. Review finish options carefully: an exposed gloss-carbon piece and a primer-finish panel are different choices. Browse BMW carbon fiber parts across brands and check the application on each product.
Does a kit include everything I need?
Not necessarily. An option labeled “no injectors,” a replacement harness, a mounting bracket or an expansion module is not a complete system. Read the selected variant and included-parts list. For fueling upgrades, review the pump, injector, controller, wiring and tuning requirements together using our BMW fueling upgrade buying guide.
Can Colorado N5X help me check a part?
Email Sales@ColoradoN5X.com with your vehicle details, relevant modifications, product link, manufacturer part number and selected option. Include clear photos when bumper, sensor or body-panel differences are involved. See Contact Us for order-support guidance.
What should I do before installation?
Inspect the shipment and compare the received item with the order and listed application. Resolve uncertainty before installing, modifying, painting, programming or test-fitting. Review the return policy first: installation, test-fitting or other handling can affect return eligibility. Confirm installation requirements with a qualified installer before proceeding.
